Bandon Western World is proud to be Bandon's only weekly newspaper.
Established in 1912 as the Bandon Recorder, the newspaper eventually became known as the Western World, serving the fishing and farming communities of Bandon OR area. Although the paper has changed its flag several times over the years, it has always maintained a commitment to Bandon community news. In 2003, the Western World was purchased by Southwestern Oregon Newspapers, a subsidiary of Pulitzer Newspapers, Inc. Now called the Bandon Western World, it is an edition of The World Newspaper in Coos Bay and provides local news to more than 2,000 readers throughout Southwestern Oregon.
