Local Bandon Event Details
Tufted Puffin Party
(end of 11th St.)
Saturday, April 25, 2015
10am - 1pm
Coquille Point will be the site of SEA's Tufted Puffin Party, 10am to 1pm.
The public is invited to join volunteers and members of Shoreline Education for Awareness who will be on site with spotting scopes, viewing a variety of birds which are starting to nest on offshore rocks and islands, including species which migrate from Alaska.
Ever thought of becoming a wildlife interpreter? Now you can. Shoreline Education Awareness will provide the training, the gear and the equipment. All we require of you is your willingness to use your senses, your knowledge and what you experience and share it with both visitors and residents to our southern Oregon coast to help them understand our coastal habitat. And we make it easy as our volunteer shifts can be as short as two or three hours in duration or as long as five hours for those who wish to spend the day interpreting.
Find out more this Saturday at SEA's annual Tufted Puffin Party at Coquille Point to Bandon. SEA members and volunteers will be on site from 10 AM to 1 PM welcoming these and other seabirds back as they return to breed on the rocks off our beaches. Drop in anytime during these hours to enjoy some refreshments and find out more about this opportunity.
For those unable to attend, training will be provided to new wildlife interpreter volunteers on May 12-13. Please call our interpreter shift coordinator at 541-260-7770 to find out more or alert us of your interest and attendance to make sure we have sufficient accommodations.
